About Georgia Afterschool Services

Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) Afterschool Care Program is a state-funded program that offers Georgia’s teens innovative out-of-school activities.

The purpose of the DHS Afterschool Care Program is to enable every child to have access to quality, inclusive, affordable after school activities that meets the needs of the child, the family and the community.

DHS Afterschool Care Program was created in response to the out-of-school time needs of school age children and youth in our state. The activities supports programming that meets the physical, social-emotional and education needs of the school-aged population.
